The new single I Don't Want to Sing This Song Again from the Brooklyn indie pop band overlord is its reemergence following 16 months of isolation.
I Don't Want to Sing This Song Again hews closely to overlord's power pop/rock inspirations, while incorporating an accordion for the first time. Yikes.
The track is drawn from the forthcoming EP, Circumstances Beyond Our Control, which paves the way for the next full-length album, Tragedy Gold.
The accompanying video looks back at the first 1,000 years of the band's convoluted history, from the first four-track in 1991 to the inevitable hellscape of 2991.

"Overlord is back with a song as good as any of their past curio poprock classics. Overlord gateway-drug your way into "I Don't Want to Sing This Song Again" with some alluring accordion work before breaking out a masterful melodic performance, perhaps vibing a bit of Teenage Fanclub but mostly just giving us that good old hooky, verbally-clever stuff we love them for." - Pop Rock Record
"NYC indie rock vets Overlord look at the repetition of history and bad decisions through the lens of music. The video does so too via 'the first thousand years' of Overlord's history." - BrooklynVegan
